Boost the over-all performance of your Ford by working on the power source itself, the engine.

Replacement with new Ford parts and engine components from Ford Parts Online is not always the answer if you desire for a performance boost. Here are some easy tips that you can do to maximize the power potentials of your Ford may it be a Ford Mustang, Ford GT, Ford Fusion or Ford Ranger.

Add Bigger Cylinders –Bigger cylinders can increase displacement thus more power is given as the gas burning rate increase in every revolution of the engine.

You can also add more cylinders, 12 are ideal for much better power production. You can also back it up with turbo chargers and super chargers to cram more gas and increase power.

Compress

The more the compression ratio is increased the greater and faster the combustion process and that means more power surge. High performance cars like Ford Shelby, Ford Focus and Ford GT need higher compression ratio for more power supply.

Smooth out Exhaust Flow

Air resistance can obstruct the flow of exhaust emissions and that could eat up the power generated by the engine instead of using it to boost the driving performance of the car. Another exhaust valve can be added to the cylinder to lessen air resistance.

In most cases, backpressure can build up in the exhaust system especially if the exhaust pipe is too small. Added headers, big tail pipes and free flowing mufflers can eliminate such problem.

Lighten up

The lighter the engine components, the better will be the car’s over-all performance.

Lighter components can use lesser energy so you have more power in stock for your car’s driving performance.

Ford Motor is putting up more marketing muscle for the Ford Escape hybrid by offering more promos and incentives for buyers to speed up its slowing sales especially in the Northeast US market as mentioned by Ford dealers and sources close to the company. The hybrid has been selling quite well ever since its first introduction in 2004. It even sold out faster than the gasoline equipped Ford hybrid. Ford Escape performance parts for replacement and add-ons is one of the most sought-after in the auto market. Ford Escape parts have varied sources not only in the nearest local stores and dealers but also in the internet including the trusted Ford Parts Online, one of the dealers of top quality Ford parts and accessories.

Ford Motor Company reported a stock of approximately 3, 900 Escape hybrids at the end of last month. This early March, demand is estimated to a 152 per day supply in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. Hybrid sales are faster than the gasoline Escape but it lags behind as compared with other hybrids in the market such as the Toyota Prius, Toyota Sienna minivan and Honda Civic. "The Escape as a hybrid is sort of middling. It's still moving faster than the traditional Escape, but it is turning slower than some of the hybrids," said Tom Libby, the J.D. Power senior director of industry analysis.

Last January, Ford president of the America spearheaded the 2.5 million Super Bowl commercial that featured Kermit the Frog. According to Ford, It’s a match made in heaven as both are established American icons. But did it really boost Ford Escape’s sales or was it just a waste of money?

As a reply to President Bush’s urge to conserve gasoline, Ford Motors Company’s environmental policy specialists have come up with simple EcoDriving tips that can help conserve the depleting fuel resources.

As what Andy Ancho, Ford's worldwide director of environmental outreach and strategy said: “We call it EcoDriving – ECOnomical because it saves money and ECOlogical because it is better for the environment. Our tips are simple actions that can save consumers money at the pump and result in cleaner air.” I found the tips at Ford after I browsed Ford Parts Online for new starters.

• Drive at posted speed limits. This is a tip that may save a life as well as fuel. EPA estimates a 10-15 % improvement in fuel economy by driving 55 instead of 65 mph. On the highway, use cruise control whenever possible.

• Accelerate smoothly and brake gradually. Jackrabbit starts waste fuel.

• Don’t be an aggressive driver. Time studies show that fast starts, weaving in and out of traffic, and accelerating to and from a stop sign or traffic light doesn't save much time, but does waste fuel and wear out car components such as brakes and tires faster.

• Check your tires. Under-inflated tires increase rolling resistance and reduce fuel economy. They also wear more rapidly. Check the vehicle door-post sticker for minimum cold tire inflation pressure. Keep tires properly inflated to the recommended pressure—this alone can reduce the average amount of fuel use by 3-4 percent.

• Don't idle for more than 30 seconds. Today's engines don't need to be warmed up. Prolonged idling creates excess emissions and wastes fuel. Start the car and immediately drive away.

• Avoid piling a lot of luggage on the roof rack. This reduces aerodynamics and can reduce fuel economy by up to 25%.

• Don't drive at higher speeds with windows wide open. It decreases vehicle aerodynamics on highways and lowers fuel economy.

• Maintain your vehicle. A properly tuned-up engine will run more efficiently. Keep the wheels aligned. Wheels that are fighting each other waste fuel.

• Replace air filters as needed. Consult the owner's manual for the recommended schedule.

• Use good quality, energy-conserving (EC) oils with a viscosity grade consistent with the owner's manual. Look for the EC11 symbol on oil cans or bottles, which is the American Society of Testing and Materials logo for fuel-efficient oils.
